Academic Commitment

Central Catholic High School is committed to a comprehensive, college prep curriculum that exceeds state requirements and meets the entrance requirements of the most selective colleges in the country. Through the combined efforts of our teachers, administration and counselors, Central Catholic provides a rigorous and innovative academic experience for every student, preparing them to meet the challenges of being a Saint in the 21st Century.

Every student at Central Catholic High School takes four years of required Theology courses, which explore the Catholic faith, traditions and moral teachings, empowering students to defend and express their faith. Students also take required courses in English, Social Studies, Math, Science, Foreign Language, Wellness, Economics, Word Processing and Fine Arts. In addition to these courses students are offered a number of electives to enrich their academic experience and broaden their interests.

Some of our recent academic achievements include:
  • The class of 2009 received over $2,000,000 in scholarships to colleges of their choice
  • 100% of the Class of 2009 are attending colleges and universities (85% to 4 year colleges/universities, 15% to 2 year colleges)
  • Average ACT score for students is a 25 compared to the State average of 20.8
  • The Class of 2009 had 7 National Merit Scholars (2 Finalists; 5 Commended).
We are proud of our students’ achievements and the commitment to academic excellence of our school community.
