Class Expectations and Grading Policy

Class Expectations
1. Come to class prepared.
· * All assignments or projects need to be completed
on time.
· * An organized notebook with all past class notes, a folder with all past class handouts, and a pen or a pencil must be brought to class each day.
2. Respect others at all times.
3. Treat the classroom and all equipment/instruments with care at all times.
· * You will be responsible for anything you use while
in this class. Please remember that musical
instruments are fragile, expensive, and difficult to
replace.
· * Many different groups use the music rooms
throughout the day. You are expected to leave the room the way you found it.
4. Follow all school policies at all times.
Grading Policy
You will be graded on the following:
1. Participation
· * This includes your daily participation in classroom
discussions, activities, and performances, as well
as note taking and attentiveness during class.
2. Notebook
· * Notes will be collected and graded throughout the
quarter.
· * Neat, organized, complete class notes are
expected.
· * You are expected to get notes from a classmate if
you are absent.
3. Projects
· * You will be required to complete one project during the quarter.
· * Project guidelines and requirements will be given to you in advance.
4. Assignments
* Assignments should be complete at the beginning
of class on the date they are due.
5. Tests or Quizzes
· * You will need to be prepared to take a quiz or test
every two weeks.
· * All tests and quizzes will be announced in
advance.
