Communications Curriculum

 

1-2 minute Pantomime; 2-4 minute speech about your name; 3-5 minute speech about a person; 4-6 minute speech to inform; 3-5 minute power point for final exam; how to prepare and deliver a speech

 

 

Speech Curriculum

 

1st Semester<br>Public address, speech to inform, special occasion speech, speech to persuade, process speech, quote speech, 8-10 minute oral final; how to prepare and deliver a speech

 

2nd semester<br>One-to-one communications; interviews and resumes; group discussion; radio and television; oral interpretation; other possible topics include debate and parliamentary procedure

 

 

Accelerated English 10 Curriculum

 

MLA documentation and research paper; vocabulary; short stories; non-fiction; poetry; drama - Antigone or I Never Sang for My Father; Shakespeare - A Midsummer Nights Dream, Merchant of Venice, or Julius Caesar; novels - Night by Elie Wiesel, Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck; other possible novels include Cold Sassy Tree and Silas Marner
