I am so excited to have you join Concert Band! I am looking forward to a great year. Be aware that I am here for you. Use me!--7am, during a study hall, or after school--I will work with you. Let's set up a time.
--Attitude/Class Behavior--
*Be in your seat, instrument put together, and music in order at 12:07.
*Do your best--ALWAYS. Help others to do their best and focus.
*Attitude, attitude, attitude! Each action is 99% attitude and 1% talent. Help make sure the predominant attitude of the group is positive.
*Respect. Respect yourself, other band members, guests, equipment, and me. "BAND LOVE!"
--Attendance!!!--
There is no band without its members--without all of its members. That is why it is imperative you are here. You do matter. We are all counting on each other and NEED to show up in order to feel and sound successful.
Therefore, attendance at all in-state concerts/events is required. Two unexcused absences from football/basketball games per semester will lower your band grade by one letter. One or more unexcused abscence from a scheduled concert or instate competition will result in your band grade being lowered by two letter grades.
Examples of Unexcused Absences include: Work, cold, family vacation
Examples of Excused Absences include: Violent Illness, death in the family, wedding
*Other instances will be viewed at the discretion of the director and all absences not filled out on the initial contract need a parental note.*
